Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Math: Today we worked on three and four addition and subtraction. First we made posters that talked about the different words that mean addition and subtraction. We talked about how subtracting something is being taken away and with addition something is being added.

Another method to think about subtraction is through whole and parts. Subtraction always gives you the whole or the final answer and one part. It is your job to subtract in order to find the second part. This analogy helped them to answer some subtraction questions.

Reading Buddies: We did Reading buddies with Ms. Bancud's Class!

Spelling: The tests will be handed back on Monday.
Language: Today we continued to work on making inferences. We looked at some pictures on a powerpoint and made inferences based on those and some paragraphs. We are starting to understand inferences more often! Good work!
Lunch/Recess

Math: We continued to work on word problems. Next we worked on estimating in a subtraction question. It is the same method when estimating with addition except you subtract the numbers. Here are the strategies you can use.
