Here is what we did today.
Language/UOI: Today in "Little House in the Big Woods" we read about Sundays. They talked about what Sundays are like for them vs their grandfather. We learned that Sundays are the day of rest and the activities that they do each Sunday. Next we learned that actions have consequences because the characters made the wrong choice of activities on Sundays.

Lunch/Recess
Math: Today we did a pre assessment for our new math unit, data management. This is just a pre-assessment and will only be used to guide my teaching and will not be marked for the report cards.
UOI: We continued to work on our summative today. The children started their final brochure today!

Language: Today we reviewed "their, there and they're". We went over the definitions of each word first:
there: a place
their: has a face
they're: they are
After this the students came up with sentences with their partners. Finally we played a game in which I gave them a sentence and they had to determine which word fit in the sentence. The winning group got popcorn points.
