Here is what we did today.
Daily Five: We did our daily rotations.
Language: Today we started our new spelling words and wrote them in our agenda's. After this we talked about what it means to be knowledgeable and made a mind map on the board. Next we read a story called" ". The children reflected about what they are knowledgeable about and wrote at least 6 sentences in their journal. If they were not done it was for homework.

Lunch/Recess
UOI: Today we talked about bike safety! We sat in a circle and talked about how we can stay safe on a bike. They told me all the different ways they can stay safe including: wear a helmet, wear safety pads, if you are under 10 ride on the sidewalk and put reflectors on your bike. Next we practiced hand signals!
Next we played simon says with hand signals! The kids all pretended they were riding their bikes around the classroom. I yelled out different left turn, right turn or stop with simon says or without...just like regular simon says! The kids loved it. Here is a video of us playing!
After this we did a worksheet in which they had to describe safe and unsafe biking practices.
Math: Today we continued working on subtraction with word problems. We did some together on the board first then they did questions independently. They were given the review for the test on Thursday. It is due on Wednesday.
