Here is what we did today.
Language/UOI: Today we read a chapter about going into town for the first time. It was a very descriptive chapter and the kids had another opportunity to see vivid description in action! After this we did tableaus! A tableau is a frozen picture. They were given the five main points of the book and they had to work together with their group to come up with a tableau for each scene. It was excellent practice for being good communicators and being open minded. The videos will be posted in a separate blog post.
Lunch/Recess
Math: Before we started we reviewed what a 1/4, 1/2 and 1/3 of circle graph was as this was a tricky concept. Next we worked on drawing pictographs! We did one together on our favourite ice cream flavour. First we voted and I tallied the answers on the board. Next we created a pictograph in which each picture represented 2 people. Finally they did some work from the textbook.
UOI: They had the opportunity to practice for their presentations.
Lunch/Recess
UOI: We started presentations! We have not finished them so we will finish them throughout the week. They are doing a great job so far! Good work everyone! The videos will be posted in a separate blog post.
