Wednesday January 31st 2018

Hello,

Here is what we did on Wednesday.

Math: Today we learned about estimating and counting money. We reviewed what it means to estimate and as a class we completed a few examples of estimating and counting out money with bills and coins. The steps were to: 1) Start with the dollars 2) Stack coins or make groups of coins worth $1 and 3) Count the leftover coin. We also spoke about showing the same value of money in different ways. We discussed that using the least amount of bills/coins is the best way to show an amount of money. We did a few table activities to help practice counting money and some textbook questions.
