Thursday February 1st 2018

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Math: Today we learned about making change. We did many examples on the board together. The students were told the cost of an item and had to decide how much change they would get back. We started by counting up from the cents to the nearest dollar and then once they have the nearest dollar how much until the money given. Here are some examples:

Language: Today we continued with our summative presentations. Students need to continue to practice their speech and work on their actions and expression.

Lunch/Recess

Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
UOI: Today we started a new unit on Country VS city! We started with a what we know and want to know chart about the terms urban and rural. We watched a video that defined and explained the differences between urban, suburban and rural places.  We discussed places we know and categorized them with the knowledge we gained from that video.

This is the video we watched: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRxNQPmj1-8

UOI:
We finished off the day making a venn diagram of the differences between urban and rural. Each id had the chance to come up and place two things on the venn diagram and tell me why it belonged there.

Have a good night!
