Here is what we did today.
Math: Today we worked on capacity! We learned that capacity is how much a container holds and it can be measured in ml and L. We learned that 1000mL = 1L and how 1L looks like with different containers. We poured different amounts of liquids in containers to estimate the amount first and then measure it. We learned about comparing and describing capacity with different objects as well. For example: a mug would be measured in millilitres because it is much smaller than our 1L glue jug. We did some textbook questions for practiced. We really had fun with this lesson!
Spelling: Work is due on Thursday and the test is on Friday. It is a review week.
Daily language review
Language: We practiced our speeches.
Lunch/Recess
Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
Math: The kids were making the same mistakes in their math work so they had a few minutes to correct it then we took up some homework we didnt have the chance to before.
UOI: We discussed today the difference between needs and wants within a community. The students had to work in groups and differentiate between a need and a want. Then they had to place them in order of importance. For example: water versus toys. They had to be good communicators to hear everyone opinion. They learned that some things that are wants can be more important than other wants, even if you can live without them. For example, recreational activities are a want but you can gain valuable experiences from them that enriches your life. It was a a very interesting activity! Most of the kids had around the same answers which is great!

A message from the Admissions Coordinator…
Hello SJA Parents and Guardians,
This is just a friendly reminder that our deadline for
re-registration is just days away! Currently, we have a number of families on
waitlists wanting to secure any vacancies that may be available to them once
this deadline has passed. Therefore, in
order to ensure that your child has a secured placement for the upcoming
academic year (2018-2019), we kindly ask that if you have not already done so,
to please complete and return your child’s registration package to their
homeroom teacher as soon as possible.
Thank you for your continued support with St. Jude’s
Academy.
Best regards,
Helen Markovic
