Here is what we did today.
Language: We continued to work on persuasive speeches. We went over what should be included in a persuasive speech. Next they edited their speech on uniforms. Next they started writing the persuasive speech on "whether or not they should have homework" that they worked on over the weekend. I wrote out examples of strong phrases that they should use in their speech. We will continue to work on it this week before we complete the OWA.
Lunch/Recess
UOI: Today we continued to work on our summatives. The planning needs to be done on Friday.
Math: Today we talked about fair vs unfair. We talked about how fair means everyone has an equal chance of winning. Next I gave them an example of spinners and we talked about whether they were fair or unfair. A fair spinner would have the same number of each colour. An unfair would have an unequal number of each colour. Next they coloured two spinners, one that was equal and one that was unequal. We also wrote the probability of landing on each colour for each spinner.
