Monday May 1st 2017

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Spelling: Spelling is due Thursday and test is on Friday
Language: We continued to work on our good copy of our summative
French: Please see Mme. Stella's blog for more information.

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we started a new unit on Geometry! We talked about parallel and perpendicular lines as well as equal length lines. We know that parallel lines are equal distance apart and will never meet and use arrow hatch marks to signify which are the same. Perpendicular lines form a right angle (an L in the bottom corner). Equal length lines are identified by straight lines on the sides that match. Next we went for a walk in the hallways to find parallel and perpendicular lines. Next we used the geoboards to create shapes. They talked about their shapes to me and identified the parallel and perpendicular lines. Finally we did some textbook work.

UOI: We worked on our good copy of our summatives.

UOI: We worked on our good copy of our summatives.
Gym: Please see Mr. Macdonald's blog for more information.

Reminders:

We have been working on our writing summative for the past two weeks. We are very behind where we should be and behind in comparison to the other classes. As a result, whatever was not completed in class today is homework (pictures and writing). Please do not help your children. If there has been changes to the story that are not done by the children I will not be marking it. It is to be 100% completed by the children.

Again, please do not help your children. I have seen all of the written work and if changes are made I will have to lower students marks as they will not have been completed independently. They are all fantastic-they just need the finishing touches!

Have a good night!

Miss. Ross
