Here is what we did today.
Daily Five: We read, listened to a books online, played work hop and did cursive writing. They were very excited!
Language: Today we talked about past tense verbs! First I asked them what they did last night, made two lists on the board and asked what the patterns were between the lists. They told me that the list on the right was all words that you add "ed" and the list on the left was words that didn't fit with "ed", they were irregular. Next we played "I have who has" with past and present tense words. They had to say their word and a question to figure whose turn was next. Next they finished a worksheet in their language books. Finally they tried to stump their partner with past tense words.

Lunch/Recess
Math: Today we calculated area using grid paper again but the shapes had halves in them this time. They learned that two halves make a whole. We did some together on the board and then they completed some work in their books.
UOI: Today they completed a comparison between pioneer times and now. We talked about the differences between now and then and they completed a table on their own. When they were done they wrote about why they would or wouldn't want to live in the pioneer times.
