Here is what we did today!
Math: Today we did a review of addition of 3 digit addition using expanded form and place value. Adding using expanded form uses the same process as 3 digit numbers. Start off by writing the expanded form for both numbers, add each column and then add the tens and ones together next the thousands and the hundreds and then both numbers together. The second method uses place value to add each column and regroup when necessary. The students all seem to have a good understanding. We also learned about checking our work through estimation. We know that if our answer and our estimated check answer can round to each other, then it is a reasonable answer.
Language: Today we summarized the story we used for our somebody, wanted, but, so then and wrote a summary in a paragraph. We talked about some things that are not related to our somebody, wanted, but, so then can be left out and we can add onto the parts that are related.
Spelling: Spelling is due Thursday and the test is on Friday. It is a review week. I will choose three words from each spelling week we have done so far.
