Tuesday April 10th 2018

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Exhibition: It is exhibition time for our grade 6's! One of the groups is working on deforestation. They did a presentation on deforestation and what it means. They have handed out papers that you can sign if you would like to receive seeds to plant in order to combat against deforestation. There is no money needed. They are due back on Friday.

Math: Today we continued to work on converting measurements. We did a package to work on many different topics. If it was not done it was homework.
Language: Today we started working on our OWA topic. We are talking about writing a letter involving the rules and routines. Today we started planning together for writing a letter to Ms. Chiappetta on the rules and routines of my house because she is coming for a sleepover! We did this together and then they started making their own planning for their letter. We talked about how it is important to consider someone else's perspective in this letter.

Lunch/Recess

Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
UOI: Today we talked about chemical energy. Chemical energy is stored energy that releases a chemical reaction. It has a similar process as mechanical energy. It starts off with potential energy, then moves to chemical change and ends in work. First we watched a video and then went through examples and sorted pictures into each category. Next the children thought of an example process as a group and drew and explained the process of chemical energy. They presented their picture to the class. Here are our pictures we have worked on!

Language: We finished off our planning for our letter. We will be writing our own letter tomorrow in class.

Lunch/Recess

French: Please see Mme. Stella's  blog for more information.
Albert's Insomnia: We ran out of time so our score was 30. We did not beat our score but they were giving very complicated answers! Our mental math is improving!

Have a good night!

Miss. Ross
