Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Math: Today we worked on our 8's! We did so well with our eights today. First we played circle up to help us remember how to skip count in that number. Next we did some practice showing our work in multiple ways. We know how to show our work in several ways: multiplication sentence, repeated addition, array, pictures and number line. Next we did target circles for those numbers and some work practicing how to show our work.

We have a math multiplication quiz Thursday

Here are some flashcards if you want to practice more: http://www.timvandevall.com/math/free-printable-multiplication-flash-cards-for-kids/

Here are some worksheets: https://www.math-drills.com/multiplication/multiplication_facts_789_0112_001.php

Language: Today we went over the chapter that we read last night and I was so happy that everyone read or listened to it last night! We talked about how it was similar to the boy who cried both. We talked about the events and made some inferences. Next we went over how to write a reflection paragraph. We used our knowledge of paragraph writing to make comparisons and connections. We wrote a paragraph on the following question: Do you think this chapter was like the boy who cried wolf? If this was not finished it was homework.

Lockdown: We practiced our lockdown today. We did very well but need to remember to stay quiet.

Lunch/Recess

Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
UOI:  Today we learned about pioneer schools! They were in groups and we rotated information sheets and writing down facts from each reading. They loved learning about pioneers and comparing against what happens today.

We also talked about our summative today.   They are going to be talking about a day in the life of a pioneer. They have multiple methods they can display their learning. They also have several topics they can choose from to talk about in their assignment. They need to choose 3-4 topics. We also talked about not doing too many things. They need to choose things that they can do really well rather than doing too many things at once. These choices are due on Friday.
