Here is what we did today.

Spelling: Spelling is due Thursday and the test is on Friday.
Language: Today we continued to read "The little house in the big woods". Today we read chapter 10 ' summertime'. We talked about how you find the key events in the story.

As we prepare the children for next year in which they are doing the novel study more independently, the children will start doing some novel study reading at home. Tonight the students are required to read one chapter, ten pages from Little House in the Big Woods. They can either read the chapter online, listen to the audio book on youtube or both. This is due for tomorrow.

Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
UOI: Today we talked about the pioneers that travelled along the Oregon trail into the states! We talked about how many things they were allowed to take and how hard to was to leave your home and only pack things in your wagon that would help you survive. As a group, the students had to figure out which item and how much they would need to survive for five months. They were given a list of items and how much they need for each one. They found it really hard and realized again how hard pioneer life was. We also made some connections to today and the differences that would take place.
