Here is what we did today.
Math: Today we started our new unit on whole numbers! We talked about place value to 100 today. We talked about three types of numbers: standard form (regular numbers), base ten name (The number of blocks used using base ten blocks. Example below) and expanded form (The amounts added up. Example below). We did several examples together in which we started with one of these types of numbers and had to find a different number ( E.g. Find the standard form when given the expanded form) Next we did some textbook questions. They did really well! I gave some of them a chart in which they can separate the numbers into (Just like the example on the top of the worksheet) and it helped. This could be a good resource for home. Here are some examples.

Language: We continued to work on our OWA
UOI: Today we talked about how the media not only sells us products and services but often sell a lifestyle along with it. We analyzed several ads together with Ms. Chiappetta's class and found that a lot of ad's had negative messages that do not make sense with the product. They are learning to be critical about ads and not take them at face value. Good work everyone!

Mental Math: We had some time at the end of the day so we played Albert's insomnia again. We managed to stop at 25 again! Lets try and beat our score next time! Here is a video of them playing.
