Here is what we did on Thursday.
Math: Today we started working on place value to 1000. They did so well on this! We started on the carpet and used buttons to represent the amounts that go in each column on the place value mat. We did some examples together. Next they went back to their desk and they did some examples on a whiteboard with a partner. Then they did some textbook questions.
Language: They worked on their international day research on the tablets. They are slowly learning how to research and I encourage everyone to practice at home so they can improve their skills. You should help them but try and let them be as independent as possible.
Lunch/Recess

UOI: Today we talked about personal service announcements (PSA's). I showed them several examples and talked about what they are and what the overall goal is. They learned that they are a short videos that deal with issues around the world. They also try to convince the viewer to take action. They are going to write and film their own PSA! Their's is on healthy eating. Today we started planning.
Lunch/Recess
Orange shirt day: Today we talked about orange shirt day and why we celebrate it. We watched a video on it and they asked questions about what residential schools were like. Next we made our own orange shirts. Take a look around the school!
