Here is what we did on Wednesday.
Language: Today we talked about dedications of books. We looked through some examples on books and tried to figure out together what a dedication was and why we did it. We learned that some are longer than others and some are short. Next we wrote a rough draft of a dedication and made sure to state why they were writing to that person. Next they did a good copy. When they were finished they wrote some examples of personification, aliteration, onomatopoeia and similes to put underneath our definitions.

Lunch/Recess
Math: Today we talked about making patterns with two changing attributes. We talked about how 5 things can change: size, shape, colour, position and thickness. Next we talked about the core of a pattern.We learned that the core is the part that repeats. Together we made some patterns on the board and identified the attributes that are changing and the core. Some students came to the board to answer some questions. Finally they did some textbook work. Some students finished early so they made patterns with the pattern blocks.
UOI: We started working on our storyboards for the summative! They are coming along nicely! They need to remember all of the parts of a story: introduce the characters and the setting, build up, problem, solution and the end of the story.
Lunch/Recess
Action: Eva presented her action.
The last group presented their fable to the class.
Math: We went over some mistakes in the homework and had some chances to fix our mistakes.
