Friday January 26th 2018

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Math: Today we took another approach to elapsed time and broke it down. We talked about elapsed time is the amount of times between two times. We talked about how first we always do the hours then the minutes. We talked about how when we are adding the hours the minutes never change. When we are adding tens, the tens column changes and the ones do not.We did many examples together and then they did some examples with their partners. Here are some pictures of the way we did it which I think will explain it better than I can in words.

Daily Language review: We did a day that we missed this week.
Spelling test: Spelling tests have been handed back and should be signed for Monday.

UOI: We worked on our summative projects and most people finished! I have sent home the stories so they can practice for the speeches. They have not been edited yet so prepare for changes but they can start making progress on memorizing. Good luch!

March Break Camp registration forms were sent home back in October. We have had many students sign up since then and especially the last few days. If you are interested in registering your chid for our amazing March Break camp, please send in the completed  registration form, along with the $20 one-time non-refundable deposit in order to secure your child's spot (this could be paid in cash or through fresh books). This year there are two options to chose from the first being lunch and two snacks provided or the second being send your own packed lunch and a discounted camp rate!We also have daily rates available. Please contact Ms. Smith bsmith@stjudesacademy.com for more details.
