Here is what we did today.
Daily Five: We did our daily rotations.
Language: Today we talked about irregular past tense verbs. We played VERBO!!! It was bingo with verbs. I said the present tense verb and the kids had to put a marker on the past tense verbs. They had a blast and all won! When we were done they had to write descriptive sentences using these verbs. We didn't finish but we will do it tomorrow in class.

Lunch/Recess
Remembrance day craft: We talked about why we celebrate remembrance day and then made poppies to form a reef! It is now on our door
Math: Today we use geoboards to calculate area and perimeter of shapes. We talked about the same shape can have a different area and perimeter. They aren't the same every time. Next they used the geoboards to form shapes and calculate the area and perimeter. They loved it!
We also went over how to make different shapes using the same area.
UOI: Today we talked about using a wagon to take on a journey! They learned that the pioneers could not pack anything they wanted because if they did the wagon could break! They needed to bring enough supplies to last all of the family members for a long time. So we practiced packing our wagons for our families in groups! They realized how hard it would be to do this! They worked really well together! They listened, communicated and were open to other peoples ideas. I was very proud of them!
Lunch/Recess
Today we had a classroom community chat and talked about our feelings in the classroom and then we had a dance party!
