Here is what we did today.
Language: Today we reviewed nouns and went over proper nouns. We learned that a proper noun is a specific person, place or thing. Proper nouns need a capital letter. We played a noun game together. I placed each letter on a piece of paper and put them face down on a desk. They had to choose a piece of paper which each had person, place or thing on it. Next they chose a letter. They had to think of a noun that matched both pieces of paper. For example, if they chose m and place, they could say Montreal. If it was a proper noun they also told me that part. Next they completed some sheets in their language workbook.
French: Please see Mme. Stella's blog for more information.

UOI: Today we went animal tracking! The kids were in groups and they had to follow one particular set of tracks around the school. They were numbered and had to write down where each number was. If they were following the numbers correctly they made it to a classroom who had a picture of the correct animal. We talked about why the pioneers had to track animals as well. They had a blast!
Math: Today we learned about perimeter. We learned that perimeter = side + side + side + side.... we did some examples on the board in which they had to count the squares on a grid paper each 1 cm. Next they had to measure and add the numbers each time. They need to remember that even though they can do it in your head you have to show your work. Finally they did some work from the textbook.
