Spelling Test: They have been done and sent home! Please send them back signed on Monday.
Language: Today we did something a little different for novel study! The kids chose their own partners and we sat in the reading corner and read together. The chapter was called "Sugar snow". The chapter talked about sugar snow (when they get a cold spell and it helps the trees give more sap) and how you make a trough for collecting maple syrup. After this we wrote instructions for making a trough using the book. We talked about using bossy verbs such as place, pour, cut or hollow. These words tell us what action to do.

Lunch/Recess
Language: We finished up our instructions
Math: First we went over the venn diagram again and completed a worksheet. This was to ensure that they understood the topic.
Next we moved onto interpreting graphs. We talked about bar graphs and pictographs (when each picture represents 2 people or 10 people etc). We did some examples together and then they worked from the textbook.
Lunch/Recess
UOI: The children worked on finishing their brochure for their summative. Some people finished but some are not done so they will be given time on Monday to finish them before they present their brochures to the class.
