Here is what we did on Friday.
Math: Today we learned about how to conduct a survey. We spoke about each step in the process together and did a few examples together. The students created 3 surveys each and asked their classmates their survey questions in order to complete them.
Language: We learned about different figurative language. We reviewed what an alliteration and a hyperbole meant and learned the definition of what a simile, personification and onomatopoeia is. We did quite a few examples as a class and brainstormed different examples of those figurative language terms. We also completed a puzzle together in which they had to match the definition to the name to the example. The students completed a worksheet where they had to underline all the figurative language terms in a story and then create some of their own.

Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
UOI: We continued to work on the figurative language as we were having a bit of trouble. We went over the types again and they all wrote out examples in their journals of each type. Next we continued to work on our fractured fairy tale!
