Hello,
Here is what we did today,
Math: We started by taking up the math review. Everyone did so well and there were almost no questions! They have been reminded to make sure they are counting the squares correctly when colouring in their own blocks and writing the decimals as some of them got some answers wrong for this reason. Next we did a multi step word problem involving decimals together in partners. They did really well! They used multiple methods to solve the problem and explained how they did it! Great work everyone!
I have sent home an optional math package for review. If you would like more sheets please let me know.
Spelling test: They have been handed back
Language: We finished off our wonder week with more research! Great work everyone!
Lunch/Recess
Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
Albert's Insomnia: We finished at 41!! A new record!!
Silent Dance: They had so much fun! Take a look! Those who did not go to the silent dance continued with their wonder week research.
Lunch/Recess
French: Please see Mme. Stella's blog for more information.
Easter Egg Hunt: The easter bunny came to our class today!
Have a good weekend!
Miss. Ross

Hello,
Here is what we did today.
Math: First we reviewed fractions to decimals on the board. Next we did review for the quiz from the textbook.
Music: Please see Mr. Oliver's blog for more information.
Language: We worked on our wonderweek questions! Some of us are working on the questions still and some are working on research on the tablets. I encourage everyone to research other wonders at home!
Lunch/Recess
Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
Hand out work
UOI: Today we did centers on for concepts: friction, gravity, buoyancy and muscular force. They alternated around and figured out what the concepts were and how they worked! They did so well!
Friction: Slowing down an object when one object rubs against a surface. More friction=slow motion
Gravity: What goes up must come down. Heavier objects drop faster because they have a larger mass.
Buoyancy: Whether an object sinks or floats. Objects with denser materials sink and lighter materials float.
Muscular force: Force that is created through the use of muscles. You use more muscular force to pick up heavier objects. When you use muscular force against a squishy object, it changes shape.
They did so well and loved it!
Lunch/Recess
French: Please see Mme. Stella's blog for more information
Have a good night!

Hello,
Here is what we did today.
Math: Today we started by reviewing what we learned previously and doing a math check in. Next we started moving onto subtracting decimals. This is the same as subtracting regularly except it is extremely important to ensure that the decimal follows down. They all did very well!
Music: Please see Mr. Oliver's blog for more information.
Language: Today we started wonder week! This week we are exploring our curiosities! We started by watching a short video to engage our curiosities. We talked about what good questions are and what things we are curious about. Next we talked about what ethical and social justice issues are. We learned that ethical means "Is something right or wrong". An example of a social justice issue is pollution or poverty. Next we made questions with our partners based on a question. They were to think of questions based on the following points:
Does your question meet the following:
1.Is it an invitation to think?
2.Open ended-- there is no final or
correct answer.
3.Makes you
think about something in a way you never considered
4.Invites deep thinking and deep feelings—ask you to think ethically (what is
right or wrong)
5.Leads to
more good questions
They did so well! I was so impressed with the questions they were coming up with! Great work everyone!
Here is the video we watched:
Lunch/Recess
Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.
UOI: Today we started working on our new unit! We first wrote down some things we knew about forces and motion. Next we watched a video to get us thinking about forces and motion:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSY4HzWZIlo
We learned that a force is a push or pull that causes a stationary object or moving object to move. Next we made a list of things we WONDERED about. Finally we made balloon shooters from cups! We talked about how we put force onto the balloon by pulling it and the balloon pushes the block forward causing MOTION! They had so much fun!

Gym: Please see Mr. B's blog for more information.

Hello,
Here is what we did today.
Math: Today first we took up the homework as to ensure we understood the homework. We need to ensure we are reading the questions carefully as some of us missed several parts. Next we started talking about ordering and comparing decimals. The first step they always need to do is put them in in a line. They do not need to be in order but this will help them to compare the columns. They first look at the first column and see if they can see right away what is the first or last number and can put those in right away. Then we go to the next column etc. This helps us to keep the numbers in line.
If all of the numbers don't have the same amount of numbers you can put place holders (zeros) at the end or the beginning to keep the numbers in line.

Here is what we did today.

We did several examples together, a worksheet and some textbook work.
Here is a summary of what we learned:
Language: We worked on our student led conference package
