Here is what we did today!


Daily Five: We did read to someone, read to self and played blurt!











































Language: Today we continued working on our friendship story. The students wrote the problem of the story today. The stories are super creative!!

Lunch/Recess

UOI: Today we talked about bullying. I started off by reading a book called "Stick and Stone." It is about bullying and standing up for your friends. They loved it! Next I gave them each a piece of paper. They stomped on the paper and crumbled it up. Next I told them to fix the paper, make it smooth again and say your sorry. They told me it was impossible to make the paper flat again. I told them that this is similar to bullying. Once you bully someone the scars on a person will never go away. They are there forever. They all understood the importance of being caring and not bullying. Finally we did a bullying contract! The students decided on what should be on the bullying contract and everyone signed it!

Math: Today we worked on adding two two digit numbers using base ten blocks. I worked with them on the carpet doing some questions together. Next I gave them all base ten blocks and they completed some questions in the textbook.

Journal:  Today they wrote about a real or made up dream or nightmare!
