Don't forget we are going to Black Creek Pioneer Village tomorrow!!! Each child should wear their gym clothes and bring a disposable lunch. They don't need anything else.

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Science fair: Today we did the science fair experiment again! We did the experiment together today and it went really well! The ice did not melt as fast and we had the chance to try out all different items throughout the classroom to see what would make the best hockey puck. After this we worked on the good copies of the paper for our science fair board.

Math: Today we played math games!

UOI: Today we continued to work on our summative project. Summative rubrics were handed out today.

Bey blades: The Grade 12's completed their summative projects in which they had to make Bey Blades! We had the chance to see them work and watch them battle! They had lots of fun!

Report cards: We reflected on this terms work and made goals for next term.

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

UOI: Today we started working on our summative's! We worked on the planning out our day as a pioneer. They all were inquirers today as they asked so many questions! I was so proud of them!

Lunch/Recess

Math: Today we worked on grouping things together! We counted some blocks together using tens and realized it was faster to count in groups then it was counting in ones. Next I gave them some other objects to count in groups. They had to find an efficient way to group the items. Some were counting in tens, twenties, forties or fifties. They did really well!

Science fair: Today we started our science fair project! I put them into groups and they had six objects to push across the ice to see what would make the best hockey puck! Come to science fair next week to see our experiment up close!

Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Spelling: Spelling is due Thursday and the test will be Friday morning before the test.
Science fair: Today we started our science fair experiment! We will be testing which objects slide the best on ice! This uses the concept of friction on the ice. Today we worked on background knowledge, question, materials, method and hypothesis. They are very excited to try the experiment tomorrow!

Math: Today we completed our math test. Tests will be back tomorrow.
UOI: Today we did a quiz on pioneers! They all did really well scores will be back tomorrow!

Catch up: We did some catch up during this time. Some people worked on some reading comprehension questions on pioneer schools, some worked on their remembrance day letters to a veteran and some worked on spelling.

Action Star

Rajan was an action star on Thursday when he researched information on pioneer schools! Great work Rajan!!

 Hello,

Here is what we did today.

Spelling test: The grades will be given back on Tuesday. I apologize for the delay.
Language: Today we reviewed all of the language topics we have been doing by doing mad libs! The kids had to put in adjectives, past tense verbs, nouns and plural nouns to make a silly story. We ended with reading the stories. They LOVED it and were laughing hysterically! They have been brought home for you all to read.
Remembrance day: Today we had a presentation by a war memorabilia collector. They had the chance to try on clothes from different time periods, pick up guns from war along with other items. They learned a lot about war and why we should remember the soldiers. They LOVED IT!

Math: Today we went over different questions and did review from the test.

UOI: We learned about schools during the pioneer time! We did a reading then answered questions. They are so interested in this topic. We didn't have enough time to finish so we will finish on Tuesday.
